During the year, I had learnt so many tasks to do with ICT, I never thought that I would be able to learn so much in ICT! The tasks are computer parts, input and output devices, making a web page, style sheets, flash animation, and many loads more.
This year topic I find challenging and exciting to do is the flash animation task. It was a very difficult task if you haven’t learns to use it and might think that I wouldn’t want to try using the confusing program before like me. But once we went on the trip to the Aptech Arena, I find it a very challenging and fun program to use, even though there are many steps to come through. Once you know how to use it, it starts to get fun! With the help of the teacher at the Aptech Arena I was able to make my way through the process and had it done finally.
Overall, I think ICT topics are all challenging and you would need some time to understand them by playing around, after you get to know them it gets very interesting and easier to use, and before you know it you might even get addicted!

From the beginning of the year (10B) I have been enjoying every of the ICT class. When I have problems I will always ask for Mr. Robert help and will he will explain the task given again.
Plus with my interest in computers, it helps me a lot when I’m learning in ICT lesson. I think that learning about the computer parts and how to fix it was very fun. I have tried very hard through out the year and at last I got promote as an ICT prefect. Thank you very much for Mr. Robert help and as we all know Mr. Robert is leaving at the end of this year so lets give him a warm goodbye.

This year, I’ve gained a lot from the ICT class. I became capable of using technical vocabularies, going through spreedsheets, experiencing softwares like Adobe Flash, making webpages, and much more of interesting things. Covering topics from IGCSE syllabus is also very helpful, because it guides you to the topic that you need to learn and prepare for. I’m glad that we had covered most of them, and this was all thanks to Mr. Robert Golding. (Also, thankyou for bringing in Flash and Photoshop to teach us !)
ICT may sound hard for those who never experienced them, and it IS actually hard if you want to go deep into one. However, once you get to know and take a liking to its uses and functions, learning about ICT wouldn’t be that hard at all. Sure, some topics might be complicated, but (to me)…they’re worth learning about.
In my opinion, this year’s lessons goes quite well.
I hope next year would also be a good year, with good classes and great teachings !

This year in our ICT lessons, I learnt about Spreadsheets, Databases, Network and Security, Computer Control, Document Production, Information and Reliability and how to make websites using Dreamweaver.
Most topics we did were similar to year 7 but I learnt a lot more about each topic. I had completely forgotten about Computer Control, so I found that quite challenging. Databases were also difficult but as time went on, I could do it.
I enjoyed using Dreamweaver and learning about Information and Reliability. Later in life, I can make websites using the skills I learnt. The topic Information and Reliability refreshed my memory on how to make presentations accurately.
I have come a crossed many times when I don’t understand a word. I tend to try and use teach-ict to help me. Websites in google also help me a lot. My class mates too are helpful and when I am really stuck I just ask my teacher.

During my ICT course this year, I have learnt how to carry out various
numbers of tasks unknown to me before. For an instance, I am now able
to make style sheets on web publishers, mail merge files, understand
and make use of formulas in spreadsheets, use flash programs and the
list goes on.
This year, the topics I found challenging include remembering formulas on spreadsheet, creating web pages and memorizing the huge range of ICT vocabulary for the theory examinations.
The bbc and teach-ict websites have proven to be very useful to me
during revision time as quizzes as well as summaries of all the topics we have covered are available to us there.
Out of all the topics covered, I enjoyed creating presentations the most as to me, it they are straight forward and easy to use.

Reflection on Year 10 ICT

This year in ICT I have worked my way through a lot of the IGCSE course. I have learnt how to make queries, reports and forms using information from a database. I have also learnt a lot of skills related to word processing, more than I originally had. Some of the theory topics we covered were storage devices, networks, communication and parts of a computer.
To understand topics I found hard I made PowerPoint presentations about them. These presentations helped me learn key words and key concepts. But the topic I found most difficult was designing and editing spreadsheets. There are lots of formulas that must be use and remembered. The only way I became better at spreadsheets was practice, practice and more practice.
